Innovative Fabric Sourcing

Fabric sourcing is working with a mill or a fabric converter who produces or procures the fabric you need. We manage the supply chain and delivery to get the required goods on time, within budget, and without any damage to our factories.

Common challenges in fabric sourcing:

Sourcing the perfect fabric can be a complex process. Here are some of the most common challenges brands face when sourcing fabric and how Cloth Portico overcomes them.

What is fabric sourcing?

MOQs

Many fabric mills require large MOQs. Cloth Portico overcomes this by working with our longstanding mill and converter partners to offer fabrics with no or Low MOQs.

Quality assurance

Making sure you brand uses high-quality fabrics is critical to your reputation and customer satisfaction.

Cloth Portico either receives the testing results directly from the mill, or in the case of converters, we work with Vartest in NYC to text fabrics for the purposes for which the fabrics are to be used. An example would be UPF 50+ for Swim or moisture management for Performance Wear. We test for shrinkage, colorfastness, and other performance factors necessary for the brand.

Supplier relationships

Over the past 30 years, we have built loyal mill relationships world wide. We use high end fabrics from Europe, USA as well Asia, including Sustainable, GOTS certified, Performance, Recycled and more. These relationships give us the opportunity to provide our clients with Lower costs via discounts.

Through our relationships, we have the ability to provide color cards and swatches or customize color with Pantones (MOQ may apply) and deliver fabric in as little as 10 days.  We mitigate the risk of fabric and trim purchasing.
